Vic and Anna Van Deventer purchased the Emerald Island Inn in May of 2021. They took on the challenge of remodeling the Inn and grounds while being hands on serving their guest personally. Their hard work has given them a 5-star rating on various travel sites.
The first time they visited Beaver Island was 20 years ago. Vic had been known to run away from home several times a year to Beaver Island where he found a place to rest and call his second home. Vic has been a part of the Beaver Island Music Festival for the past 20 years gathering their kids and grandchildren to enjoy this special kind of adventure.
Vic & Anna owned and operated the historical 5 Star "Baert Baron Mansion B&B in Zeeland Michigan for 13 years and enjoyed meeting and serving guests from all over the world. Anna is also known for her Southern cooking, confectionery delights and hosting Ladies Gatherings for the past 20 years.
Vic and Anna both worked for the TCT Television Network over the past 28 years as Regional Station Managers. Vic holds a Michigan contractor's license and has restored several homes in the Zeeland, Michigan area.
Both Vic and Anna have been involved in their communities over the years. Vic is currently on 5 boards on the Island, and he and Anna have served on the Zeeland Historical Society. Anna worked as director of the Zeeland Historical Museum. Anna is currently a board member of "Grant Me Hope" and" Rustic Beginnings" in the Holland, Michigan area. Her passion is gathering women together around a table to have an afternoon of ministry and prayer.
Vic & Anna are from Southern Indiana; Anna is a country girl raised on a large farm while Vic was raised in town. They have a large family of six children, and around 3 dozen Grandchildren and great Grandchildren. Vic and Anna would be honored to have you stay with them while visiting the Island and look forward to serving you.
